Winner of the AgroPolis – AgroChallenge
Agriculture is one of the most users of water: a lot of water is wasted by an excess of irrigation. Precision irrigation provides an answer by estimating the water needs of a crop and by irrigating the right amount of water at the right time and at the right location.
The application of precision irrigation offers a significant potential to save on water, energy and as a consequence on money. In addition it contributes to better harvest yields and has a positive environmental impact by reducing water, which is an important source of water pollution, that drains away of fields.
AgroSense-Precision Irrigation is an end-to-end solution that can help solving this problem by using sensors, actuators, drones, connectivity and software.
The AgroSense project originated from Guy Dillen.
Guy is an experienced ICT & IoT professional who held several (freelance) positions in both international and national companies & organisations. His focus is mainly on project management, IoT architecture and software development.
